It is with deep sorrow that we reflect on the passing of President Jimmy Carter, a man whose life was defined by his unwavering commitment to service and his dedication to improving the lives of others.
As a long-time supporter and champion of Habitat for Humanity, President Carter’s legacy will live on through the countless homes he helped build, including those right here in Will County. Locally, we were privileged to have Joe Adler, one of the founding members of Will County Habitat for Humanity, work alongside President Carter in building homes and communities.
This photo captures a special moment with Joe Adler and Jimmy Carter working at a Carter Work Project. Both men understood that a home is more than just a place to live—it is the foundation for a better life, a symbol of stability, and an opportunity for hope. Our community, and communities around the world, are better for their shared efforts.
As we remember President Carter’s incredible legacy, we also remember and honor Joe Adler’s commitment to Habitat for Humanity. Their work together continues to inspire and will have a lasting impact on our community for generations to come. Rest in peace, President Carter and Joe Adler. Thank you for showing us the power of building homes and hearts, and for leaving a lasting impact on the world.
