Who We Are
Will County Habitat for Humanity transforms lives and communities by building and preserving affordable homes with families in need, and by uniting all of the Will County region around the cause of affordable housing.
Founded in 1988 as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Will County Habitat has placed over 100 families in homes within the Joliet, Plainfield, Bolingbrook, and surrounding areas. We do this through home construction and preservation in our homeownership program, as well as our home repair program and joint neighborhood revitalization and support programming.
Partner Families are partners with us throughout the whole process from contributing sweat equity hours helping to build their home to making their monthly mortgage payment. Meet some of our homeowners.
Our vision is an equitable region in which all people have access to healthy, affordable homes.
Together with volunteers and future homeowners, Will County Habitat has improved the housing stock throughout our service area, by investing millions into our local communities to revitalize neighborhoods across Will County, Illinois and creating more access to affordable housing.
Since 1988, we have done a lot...
“Living in a Habitat home gave me the opportunity to pursue my dreams and the affordable mortgage allowed me to continue my education. Today, I’m a Nurse Practitioner with United Healthcare and working on my Doctorate. Most importantly, Habitat provided me a HOME, not just a house to raise my boys.”
