Cynthia Harvey
Family Services Coordinator

Retired from the United Stated Department of Housing and Urban Development with over 33 years of Federal Government Service. I held the position as the Senior Public Housing Specialist. I also volunteer and work with underprivileged youths, in the city of Chicago from the ages of 5 to 21years old. I conduct workshops that focus on positive conflict resolution, anger management, anti-bullying and anti-violence practices. I am a devoted Christian and serve on the Usher board under the leadership of the Illinois First Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ.

Cheryl has been involved with Habitat for Humanity for many years, starting as a volunteer in high school. She has been in her role at Will County Habitat for Humanity since June 2021. Connecting with volunteers is her favorite part of the job. Cheryl enjoys her native wildflower garden, listening to live music, volunteering in a variety of roles and spending time with her cherished family members and friends. Cheryl loves sharing stories with others about Habitat for Humanity and has a long-time passion for the organization.

Melissa is our Special Events Manager. When she is not planning events for Habitat you can usually find her shopping or at home with her family. Melissa has lived in the Will County area for 25 years but originally is from Las Vegas. Melissa is always ready to take a road trip on a whim.

I find joy in lending a helping hand to others and going above and beyond to make a positive impact on people’s lives. My passion for helping others inspires me to continue going on this journey God has placed me in, and for this I’m thankful. I share a strong bond with my family filled with love, support, and laughter. Together we love to create beautiful memories and navigate life’s ups and downs as a team. My family is a joy and comfort, and make each and every day brighter.

When Heidi is not overseeing the ReStore, she is involved in the organization Shorewood HUGS that she cofounded in 2008. The non-profit’s mission is a Wishes Program that brightens the lives of people in our community going through a difficult time. During Covid she received her ICF life coaching certificate and recently started “Simply Organized” where she is a home organizer as well as a life coach organizer. Her greatest love, however, is spending time with her children and grandchildren.
