Who We Are

Will County Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to building homes, communities and hope. We are transforming lives and strengthening communities by building and preserving affordable homes for families in need.

Founded in 1988 as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, we have helped over 100 families achieve homeownership in Joliet, Plainfield, Lockport, Elwood, Bolingbrook, and surrounding areas. Our efforts include new home construction, home preservation, preparing to be mortgage ready, community events, and comprehensive support programs focused on neighborhood revitalization.

In addition to our housing programs, we bring the community together through a variety of events, including First Look for Charity, the Will County Beer & Bourbon Fest, the Executive Golf Invitational, Witches Night Out, and Tinsel and Tinis. These events help raise awareness and support for affordable housing while fostering a sense of connection and collaboration across the region.

Our Partner Families are actively involved throughout the entire process, from contributing sweat equity hours to helping build their homes, to making their monthly mortgage payments.
