Melissa is our Development Director. When she is not planning events for Habitat you can usually find her shopping or at home with her family. Melissa has lived in the Will County area for 25 years but originally is from Las Vegas. Melissa is always ready to take a road trip on a whim.

Dayana Rodriguez

Dayana earned her degree in business administration from Saint Xavier University where she also played collegiate volleyball. She began her career with the Chicago White Sox as a Stadium Experience Coordinator before moving into sales positions for both AT&T and Stericycle. Her next opportunity led her to San Diego for three years before moving back and joining the Habitat team. Outside of work, Dayana enjoys spending time with her dog, watching sports and playing in a recreational bowling and volleyball league.

Dawn Evans

Dawn brings over 25 years of creative direction and brand strategy experience, both on the agency side (B2B), and on the client side in event marketing. She’s excited to add “hard hat” to the many hats she has worn throughout the years. Outside of work, Dawn enjoys co-hosting a podcast with her husband, being the resident taste-tester for the family’s craft BBQ business, coffee time with her sons and quality time with friends.

Retired from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development with over 33 years of Federal Government Service. I held the position as the Senior Public Housing Specialist. I also volunteer and work with underprivileged youths, in the city of Chicago from the ages of 5 to 21years old. I conduct workshops that focus on positive conflict resolution, anger management, anti-bullying and anti-violence practices. I am a devoted Christian and serve on the Usher board under the leadership of the Illinois First Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ.

Claire is a Joliet native and recent graduate from Loyola University—Go Ramblers! She brings her passion for housing equity to the Community Outreach/Volunteer Coordinator role and is excited to be part of the Habitat team. In her free time, Claire likes to cook, try new food, watch movies, spend time with friends and family, and snuggle with her cat, Pickles.

Daijah comes to us with sales and recruiting experience. In college, she was a member of the Track and Field team, President of Black Student Union, and pursued a degree in Business Management within her four years. She has been a hairstylist for approximately 10 years, enjoys baking and decorating sugar cookies, and loves arts and crafts. She is excited to utilize her versatile skills in Habitat to Humanity.

Scott has been a home builder for over 40 years and has built over 400 homes. After considering retirement, he decided to make the world a better place and build for Habitat for Humanity. His hobbies include running half-marathons and playing with their new puppy.

Heidi Serena

When Heidi is not overseeing the ReStore, she is involved in the non-profit organization Shorewood HUGS, that she co-founded in 2008. Heidi is a former educator and an ICF certified life coach. She enjoys event planning, staging, and organizing spaces. Her greatest love, however, is spending time with her children and grandchildren.
