Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom
The Fairmont community is invited on June 19th from 4 pm to 7 pm. The event will take place at AF Hill Park in the Fairmont neighborhood (the location is at the corner of Green Garden Place and Princeton Avenue, Lockport, IL 60441). Juneteenth is the longest running African American holiday, which was created to celebrate the emancipation of enslaved people in the U.S., and we are looking forward to celebrating such a momentous occasion with the community!
We will be providing free food for attendees while supplies last. There will be music, games, giveaways, bounce houses and more for you and your family to enjoy. Additionally, vendors and many local organizations will be joining the event to give out information on how they can help people from the area.
