Donation Guidelines
We gladly accept gently used items based on available space and inventory needs. To ensure quality, our staff may decline items that are damaged, excessively worn, outdated, or not suitable for resale. Thank you for your understanding.
DROP OFF / PICK UP HOURS
Tuesday - Saturday
9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
We accept the following gently used items based on available space:
- Antiques & Vintage Items – In good condition
- Appliances – Less than 7 years old and in good working condition
- Arcade Games – fully functional
- Books – In good condition
- Cabinets – Individual cabinets or complete cabinet sets with granite countertops
- Doors – Solid interior and exterior doors
- Exercise Equipment
- Flooring & Tile – Hardwood or tile only; minimum of 5 boxes (approximately 100 sq. ft.)
- Furniture – Couches, tables, chairs, dressers, patio furniture, and similar items
- Hardware – Hinges, knobs, nuts, bolts, and other miscellaneous hardware
- Holiday Decorations – Seasonal items only
- HVAC Equipment – Furnaces, fireplaces, and window air conditioners
- Home Décor
- Lighting – Light fixtures and lamps
- Millwork & Lumber – Minimum 6-foot lengths; nails must be removed
- Office Furniture – Chairs, filing cabinets, and other office furniture (no large desks/cabinets
or cubicles) - Plumbing Fixtures – Vanities, kitchen fixtures, and sinks (no faucets)
- Small Appliances & Vacuum Cleaners
- Tools – Must be in working condition
- Windows
We cannot accept the following items:
- Automotive items
- Blinds
- Broken or damaged items
- Ceiling fans
- Chemicals or cleaning supplies
- China cabinets
- Clothing
- Cribs or baby toys
- Dishes, pots, and pans
- Electronics
- Entertainment centers
- Food or beverages
- Furniture with rips, tears, stains, smoke odor, excessive dirt, pet hair, or outdated condition
- Hazardous materials
- Headboards/footboards
- Medical or hospital equipment
- Pianos
- Rugs
- Televisions
- Tires
- Toilets
- Unframed mirrors or loose glass
- Used insulation
- Used mattresses, box springs
- Used paint
- Window treatments
STANDARD PICK UP
PLEASE NOTE: Joliet ReStore charges a nominal $25 pick up fee to help offset driver and truck operational costs.
- Drivers are not permitted to go into the donors homes. This is for the safety of our drivers and donors.
- Items are to be left in the garage or outside of the house (weather permitting).
- All donations are to be clearly labeled “ReStore Pick Up”
