House
construction Will County Habitat for Humanity construct homes
with volunteer labor. Individuals and teams of fewer than 10 persons may
call 815-666-8144 or e-mail us. In addition to worksite volunteers, the CONSTRUCTION DIVISION
seeks talented individuals who
can commit to help us build Habitat houses on a regular and ongoing
basis. These are: House Leader
·
HL’s
assist HFH Staff from the foundation through drywall taping ·
HL’s
plan and supervise volunteers from drywall patching, trim, completion through
Punch List ·
Skills:
Project management, communication, people, some construction ·
Time commitment: 6 months, most Saturdays, ·
Weekday phone/email connection Skilled
Leader
·
Skilled Leaders commit to the leading
crews (4-6 people) at least monthly (1st Sat, 2nd Sat, etc) in at least 1
skill area (siding, drywall, insulation, painting, trim, completion) ·
SL’s
work as assigned on whatever house needs their skill, with minimal
supervision by HFH Staff during the day. Finish Team
·
Finish Team members commit to being on call to help finish houses as needed ·
FT’s
begin with painting and stay with house through completion and walk-thru ·
Assist
in Punch List items and complete Walk-Thru with families ·
Work
under the direction on the House Leader or HFH Staff Interested parties call 815-726-1880 and plan on attending the next
Construction Division meeting on the first Wednesday of each month at 8 AM in
the Habitat office. Or fill
out our volunteer form, and
