An ability to pay a mortgage
A willingness to partner through sweat-equity
Who are...
Residents of Will County (given preference)
USA citizens or legal residents
Willing to accept the style, type and location of Habitat houses we build
And meet these basic requirements…
Have need for the housing such as:
Substandard housing: many repairs needed
Overcrowding
High rent compared to income
Non-accessible to family member
Have the ability to pay for the housing:
Gross family income within 30% to 50% of median (AMI)
Manageable debt / good credit
2 years past discharge of any bankruptcy
Stable family income and work record
Are willing to partner with Will County HFH to become a homeowner:
Submit a complete application within the process time frame
Complete a minimum of 350 hours sweat-equity on own and other’s houses
Attend mandatory budgeting and home maintenance seminars
